2023 Washingtonian Top Lawyers List Recognizes Five Offit Kurman Attorneys
Offit Kurman is pleased to announce that five of its lawyers have been named to the 2023 Washingtonian Top Divorce Lawyers list, including Joseph Condo in the firm's Tyson's office, Sandra Brooks, Cheryl Hepfer, and Samantha Kravitz in the firm's Bethesda office and Erin Golding in the firm's Washington D.C. office.
The process of the Washingtonian Top Lawyers list starts with a survey of nearly 1,000 attorneys, asking whom of their peers should be considered. Then, through research and reporting Washingtonian looks for recent notable successes at the local bar.
Sandra A. Brook's practice focuses on all aspects of family law. She dedicates her time to assisting clients in domestic law matters, including divorce, child custody/visitation, family mediation, spousal/child support, property division and division of retirement benefits. Sandy's other areas of deep knowledge and experience include tax consequences of divorce, mediation, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, negotiating and drafting of separation agreements, domestic litigation and post-judgment proceedings. Sandy is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, placing her in the top 5% of family law attorneys in the United States. She is also a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), which comprises 700 of the most highly regarded family law lawyers worldwide.
Joseph Condo devotes his practice to all aspects of family law, including custody, support and property division. In practice for almost 50 years, Joe has become recognized as one of Virginia's most accomplished and proficient family-law attorneys. He has been included in all of the Washingtonian's lists of the Washington area's best divorce lawyers since 1981, described in the magazine's February 2009 issue as a "Virginia legend" who "knows how it's done." His peers have chosen him for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®, beginning with its first edition in 1983, and in every edition since.
Erin Golding focuses her practice on helping her clients through divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, property distribution, paternity, civil protection proceedings, prenuptial agreements and other matters involving family disputes. Erin is a board member and past president of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Erin volunteers regularly at the Family Court Self-Help Center at D.C. Superior Court. Erin previously served on the D.C. Bar's Family Law Steering Committee and on the D.C. Court's Domestic Relations Branch Subcommittee. She is a past president and co-founder of the Collaborative Project of Maryland and a co-founder and continuing board member of the Collaborative Access Project of Washington, D.C.
Cheryl Hepfer is a highly regarded attorney who has practiced family law for over 40 years. Through peer nominations, she was listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and as a top lawyer in the Washingtonian, Bethesda Magazine, and Super Lawyers publications. She is past president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Her practice consists primarily of domestic litigation involving significant assets and business interests.
Samantha Kravitz handles cases involving divorce and separation, child custody, child support, spousal support/alimony, property division, prenuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements and the enforcement of court orders and agreements in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Her child custody practice often includes complex custody issues involving parents with mental health conditions, allegations of substance abuse and children with special needs. Samantha also has experience representing clients whose cases involve complex compensation and business valuation issues.
