This townhall discussion equips student-athletes and their families with the knowledge and tools needed to confidently navigate today's NIL landscape. Participants will gain practical insights into legal protections, financial considerations, personal branding, and the importance of planning beyond the next opportunity.

Designed as an educational and compliance-focused program, the forum emphasizes informed decision-making, responsible stewardship, and long-term success.

Lisa Barringer

Business Manager, 360 Business Management

Lisa Barringer is a business manager with 360 Business Management, building and offering a family office suite of services exclusively for individual athletes and entertainers. Her clients range from high school to retired athletes, social media influencers, and touring performers.

Lisa consults with her clients regarding income, payroll, and sales and use tax issues; handles tax inquiries and audits on state and federal levels; advises in areas such as entity formation and management, charitable giving, and estate planning; and coordinates a team of outside advisors and serves as point when her clients need assistance in such areas as family law, immigration, real estate, and investments. With 360 Business Management, she provides bookkeeping, bill pay, payroll and concierge services.

Bill Carter

Founder, NIL Forum

Bill Carter is the founder of the NIL Forum, the leading membership community for NIL professionals, and Student-Athlete Insights, an NIL education and consulting firm. He teaches NIL courses at Boston College and advises Fortune 500 brands and Division I universities on name, image, and likeness. A 25-year sports marketing veteran, Bill co-founded and sold the sports agency Fuse before dedicating his work exclusively to NIL in 2020.

Trey Gresh

Vice President and Client Advisor, Glassman Wealth Services

Trey Gresh understands the challenges of balancing competing priorities. As a former quarterback at Virginia Tech, he developed leadership and decision-making skills that now help clients navigate complex financial choices with confidence. After starting his career on Wall Street, Trey spent most of his career in wealth management, advising families on investments, tax strategies, estate planning, and insurance. He believes lasting financial success comes from thoughtful, consistent decisions and values building long-term, trust-based relationships. Trey holds the CFP® designation and earned bachelor's degrees in finance and marketing from Virginia Tech. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shannon, and their two children, as well as hiking, fishing, golfing, and following sports.

Kenneth "Kenny" Jefferson

Kenneth "Kenny" Jefferson is an Estates & Trusts Principal at Offit Kurman whose practice sits at the intersection of sophisticated tax and estate planning and the sports and entertainment world. A former Division I football player and lifelong athlete, Kenny brings a distinctive perspective shaped by experience across government (IRS), in-house (Morgan Stanley), and both boutique and large law firms — including membership in the sports and entertainment practices at his prior firm and at Offit Kurman. He advises professional athletes, entertainers, executives, and high-net-worth families on complex estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax planning, tax compliance, and broader wealth strategy, with a particular focus on helping clients in sports and entertainment protect and grow what they build. Kenny also counsels clients on private equity investments, navigating business deals and transactions, and planning around intellectual property and digital assets — helping athletes and entertainers structure, own, and preserve the value they create. His work includes comprehensive estate planning documents (wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, and healthcare directives), trust modifications, probate and high-net-worth estate administration, business planning, and entity formation, as well as governance documents such as Shareholder, LLC operating, partnership, and buy-sell agreements. Drew Kastner is a principal in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. Drew is an experienced intellectual property attorney whose practice includes handling trademark and copyright licensing and general intellectual property matters. He draws on his previous experience as president of the trademark licensing division of an intellectual property advisory and transactions firm to provide a first-hand understanding of the complexities of intellectual property law. Drew’s intellectual property background is complemented by significant experience in litigation and technology from the dual perspectives of in-house and outside counsel.

Shane Lee

Loan Officer, SWBC Mortgage

Shane Lee was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he attended St. Frances Academy and established himself as one of the nation's top high school football players at his position. He enrolled early at the University of Alabama and quickly earned a starting role as a true freshman on Nick Saban's defense. That season, he was recognized as a Freshman All-American and named to the All-SEC Freshman Team. Despite the setback due to a significant injury, Shane remained committed to his team and personal growth, earning his degree in marketing while contributing to two College Football Playoff National Championship runs, including one championship victory. After college, he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent before ultimately deciding to step away from football and pursue a career in residential mortgage lending. Today, Shane serves as a Loan Officer with SWBC Mortgage, where he is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve homeownership through education and informed decision-making. Drawing from his experiences in both athletics and business, he is committed to serving the community that helped shape him while empowering others with perspectives and insights that are often overlooked yet can make a meaningful impact.

Kenneth Muse

Vice President & Portfolio Manager, Northern Trust Wealth Management

Kenny Muse is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust Wealth Management, where he oversees investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and families. A Prince George’s County, MD native, Kenny attended DeMatha Catholic High School before getting his degree in finance from Fordham University. Kenny began his career in the finance and investment industry with roles at Makenna Capital Management and Morgan Stanley working in private equity and derivatives respectively before transitioning to wealth management. In his role, he works with a diverse range of clients, including professional athletes, business owners and multigenerational families via multi-asset class strategy, trading, and portfolio construction. Kenny has a passion for educating clients while growing and maintaining their wealth to make sure they achieve their lifetime financial goals.

Tiffany Oates, Esq.

Sports Industry Strategic Advisor, Secretariat

Tiffany Oates, Esq. is a seasoned legal, investigative, and policy strategist in Secretariat’s Global Sports Consulting Practice and a recovering lawyer who previously served as general counsel for a DC government agency, where she today, working on stadium development, workforce and public finance. Specifically, she advises colleges and universities on the business of athletics, including revenue growth, facilities, public funding, cost efficiency, and NIL compliance.

She currently serves as a host and reporter for FOX Sports Radio, a studio host for the Atlantic 10 Conference and she is commonly seen on FOX 5 DC locally as a sports and lifestyle contributor. Nelson is also the founder, host and executive producer of “Listen In With KNN” podcast network. Her career includes work with NBC/Peacock, Bally Sports, ESPN+ as a color commentator, the Washington Commanders, and The Draft Network, along with appearances on major media outlets across the U.S. and abroad. The Heisman voter was named to Maryland’s Top 100 Women of 2025, Leading Women Under 40 by The Daily Record and this year she was honored as one of the Top 25 Black Journalists in the country at the Georgia State Capitol.

Andrew Cushnir • The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore   President & Chief Executive Officer Andrew Cushnir is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Associated, having started in the role in May 2024. He is the eighth person to serve in this role since The Associated’s founding over 100 years ago. Andrew brings a wealth of experience and a profound dedication to strengthening and enriching the Jewish community.
