Charles K. McKnight Jr.

For more than two decades, Charles McKnight has guided companies, executives, and individuals through complex commercial disputes in courts and arbitration forums across the country. A strategic and persistent advocate, he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in high‑stakes litigation involving breach of contract, fraud, real property matters, business torts, insurance coverage disputes, joint ventures, construction issues, licensing conflicts, and asset purchase agreements.

Charles has developed a track record of success with a wide variety of clients, including Fortune 500 corporations in the insurance, financial services, and energy sectors; international businesses based in Brazil, Canada, Germany, Korea, Switzerland, and Peru; and small and mid‑sized U.S. companies. He has also defended numerous class actions and handled appeals in federal and state courts. His work includes successfully resolving multiple international arbitration matters from initiation through hearing and final award.

Taking a collaborative approach, Charles works closely with in‑house legal teams and business leadership to align litigation strategies with organizational goals. In addition to his active litigation practice, he advises on the drafting, interpretation, and negotiation of sophisticated commercial agreements.

Before entering private practice, Charles served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard C. Freeman of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. These experiences inform his thoughtful, pragmatic approach to courtroom advocacy.

Charles has lived in Atlanta for more than 30 years, where he and his wife raised their three children.
