Chris Emery rubbed elbows with the most powerful people in Washington. How did he do it?? He was a White House usher. For many years, it was his duty to run the private residence of the White House, and to plan all events. He fondly served Presidents Reagan and President Bush, and their families. He is only the 18th usher to serve since 1891.
Chris came to the Columbia Patuxent Rotary club on Friday to talk about his experiences. He is a lesson in timing. His chosen field was IT, which took him into the White House, and he came out an usher.
Chris has written a book that has no shocking details, but which recounts what it takes to run this portion of the White House. Look for White House Usher to learn more.
The Columbia Patuxent Rotary meets on Friday mornings at 7:30 at Linden Hall. If you want to spend time with great people doing wonderful service, check us out.
