Reem Rana is a litigation attorney who represents individuals and businesses in complex civil matters in state and federal courts. Her practice spans business and commercial disputes, civil rights litigation, real estate and land-use matters, and related public-law claims. She approaches litigation with a strategic, detail-oriented mindset and works closely with clients to develop practical, results-driven solutions at every stage of a matter.

Reem has extensive experience handling matters from case inception through trial and appeal. She represents clients in contract disputes, commercial torts, and business-related litigation, managing pleadings, discovery, dispositive motion practice, and settlement negotiations. Her work also includes civil rights and public-law litigation involving claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, the Fair Housing Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and constitutional and statutory challenges arising from zoning, land-use, and governmental enforcement actions.

A significant portion of Reem’s practice involves litigating against municipalities, counties, and other governmental entities. She has experience challenging administrative decisions and unlawful governmental conduct through dispositive motions, evidentiary hearings, and injunctive relief proceedings. Her litigation background includes comprehensive motion practice and discovery in both state and federal courts, with an emphasis on detailed factual development and rigorous statutory analysis.

Reem also has experience with multi-level appellate advocacy, including issue preservation at the trial level, post-judgment motions, interlocutory appeals, and briefing before state and federal appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Throughout her practice, she advises clients on litigation strategy, procedural posture, and risk exposure, maintaining direct client relationships while coordinating matters that span multiple practice areas.

Earlier in her career, Reem practiced transactional law at a large national law firm and developed a strong foundation in immigration law, with a focus on humanitarian matters, including asylum and family reunification. She also brings an international policy perspective to her practice, having served as a legal intern in Brussels on matters involving civil liability for nuclear facilities in work connected to the European Commission.
