For businesses, lenders, trustees, and individuals facing financial distress, Steven Goldberg provides practical guidance through bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring matters, and complex commercial disputes. He represents clients in bankruptcy courts and state and federal courts, helping them address financial challenges, protect assets, enforce rights, and pursue strategic solutions that support their long-term objectives.
Steve brings extensive experience representing both debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 proceedings involving business entities and individual debtors. His practice encompasses bankruptcy-related litigation, commercial loan enforcement actions, workouts, restructurings, and insolvency matters. By working with clients on all sides of the bankruptcy process, he offers a comprehensive understanding of the issues that arise when businesses and individuals encounter financial difficulties.
Drawing on decades of bankruptcy and restructuring experience, Steve advises corporate and individual debtors, creditors, bankruptcy trustees, banks, and other lenders on complex financial and legal challenges. He counsels clients through every phase of a bankruptcy matter, from evaluating options before a filing to litigating contested issues and implementing post-confirmation strategies. His experience also includes matters involving the sale of real estate, operating companies, and other business assets through bankruptcy proceedings.
In addition to the bankruptcy courts, Steve advises businesses and individuals seeking alternatives to formal insolvency proceedings. He works with borrowers, lenders, and other stakeholders to negotiate workout arrangements, restructure obligations, and develop practical solutions designed to preserve value and minimize disruption.
Before entering private practice, Steve served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Nancy V. Alquist of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland. That experience provided him with valuable insight into bankruptcy procedures and the legal issues that arise in complex insolvency matters.
