Offit Kurman Welcomes Four Attorneys Across Four Offices

Offit Kurman is pleased to welcome one counsel and three associates to the firm in the areas of Distressed Real Estate, Real Estate, Landlord Representation, Family Law, and Estates and Trusts.

Thomas Halm joins the firm as counsel in the Distressed Real Estate practice, resident in the Metropark, New Jersey office. He advises secured and unsecured creditors, financial institutions, mortgage servicers, investment firms, distressed debt asset funds, receivers, landlords, trustees, and asset purchasers.

Mr. Halm represents his clients in state and federal courts in commercial litigation and transactional matters, including commercial and residential foreclosure actions, bankruptcies, receiverships, evictions, collections, workout proceedings, insolvency and other complex creditors' rights matters. He has extensive experience with New Jersey receivership law and has acted as a court-appointed receiver and lead counsel in several of the state's most significant Ponzi scheme cases.

Mr. Halm received his B.A., cum laude, from Seton Hall University and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

Associate Ahmad Ahmadzai joins the Real Estate practice in the Bethesda, Maryland office. He represents borrowers, lenders, buyers, sellers, and franchisees/franchisors. Mr. Ahmadzai assists in drafting and negotiating primary loan documents, title and survey clearances, third-party agreements for purchases, refinancings, and change ownership or operation transactions for multifamily apartment complexes and assisted living facilities.

Mr. Ahmadzai received his B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University and his J.D. from Howard University School of Law. He received his L.L.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Associate Robert Donahue joins the Landlord Representation practice in the Bethesda office. As a litigator, he focuses on delivering efficient solutions for property owners and managers.

Mr. Donohue received his B.S. from Kenyon College and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Associate Michelle Yeung joins the firm's Estates and Trusts practice in the New York office. She concentrates her practice on estate tax, trust, Medicaid and Special Needs planning. Ms. Yeung prepares wills and various types of trusts, such as generation-skipping tax trusts, credit shelter trusts, life insurance trusts, Medicaid asset protection trusts, and supplemental needs trusts. She advises clients on complex estate planning, including tax saving plans, document drafting, and credit shelter trusts.

Ms. Yeung received her B.S., cum laude, from New York City College of Technology and her J.D., cum laude, from SUNY Buffalo Law School, where she received the 2015 Judge William J. Regan Award for demonstrating excellent proficiency in estates and surrogate's law.
