Ian Thomas Appointed Chair of International Masters of Gaming Law’s (IMGL) Responsible Gaming Committee

Offit Kurman principal attorney  Ian Thomas has been appointed as Chair of IMGL's Responsible Gaming Committee. The committee oversees and provides a forum for industry leaders to discuss and develop industry practices and strategies around responsible gaming.

“Responsible gaming is essential to the integrity and sustainability of the industry,” said Ian. “I'm honored to chair IMGL's Responsible Gaming Committee and work alongside global leaders to develop strategies that promote accountability, player protection, and long-term success."

IMGL is a not-for-profit association comprising over 300 members globally. The members are recognized​ as the leading experts in their jurisdictions and are at the heart of developments in gambling law and regulation worldwide. Ian was accepted as a member in 2024. The organization is dedicated to education, hosting two prominent international conferences annually to provide industry learning and networking opportunities. Members frequently participate in IMGL Masterclasses, organized in collaboration with major gaming industry events across the US, Europe, Asia, and other regions. Additionally, IMGL members contribute to ongoing professional development sessions for gambling regulators. The organization is widely respected by gaming operators, suppliers, regulators, and investors for its role in shaping the future of gambling laws.

Ian is a dedicated and accomplished litigator in Offit Kurman's Commercial Litigation Practice group. He has also developed a robust practice that focuses on representing clients in the gaming industry, including e-sports, sports wagering, and iGaming. Ian advises gaming clients on governance, licensing, compliance, and regulation, drawing on his litigation and regulatory background. He works with startups, operators, and innovators worldwide and regularly shares insights on emerging gaming laws and trends.
