Offit Kurman is pleased to announce that Managing Principal William “Billy” Cannon has been named one of The Daily Record’s 2026 Influential Marylanders, a recognition honoring individuals whose leadership, expertise and dedication have helped shape Maryland’s business, civic and nonprofit communities.

Cannon serves as the firm’s Managing Principal and leads the Office of Managing Principal, which is responsible for the management of the firm’s Practice of Law Division. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Cannon maintains an active legal practice focused on representing property owners and property management companies in litigation, mediations, administrative agency hearings and leasing matters. He is widely recognized for his work in fair housing compliance and the defense of fair housing and discrimination complaints. Cannon routinely provides fair housing training and frequently speaks and writes on issues related to property management, fair housing and affordable housing management.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Influential Marylanders program, celebrating two decades of recognizing leaders who have made a significant impact across the state through their professional achievements and community involvement. Influential Marylanders will be honored at a celebration on September 30 at The Grand Lodge, 304 International Circle in Cockeysville, Maryland.
