Michael "Mike" C. Heyden

Principal

Michael C. Heyden represents companies, executives, and boards of directors in high-stakes commercial litigation, with a focus on disputes involving corporate governance, fiduciary duties, and complex business matters. He litigates in Delaware courts, including the Court of Chancery, and advises clients on strategies designed to protect their business interests in sophisticated, fast-moving disputes.

His practice spans a broad range of commercial matters, including corporate and real estate litigation, insurance coverage and extra-contractual liability disputes, and employment-related claims. Mike also counsels businesses facing allegations involving restrictive covenants, wage-and-hour compliance, and discrimination. In addition, he has experience handling class actions, construction-related disputes, and matters involving design professionals and contractors.

Drawing on his experience in e-discovery and complex case management, Mike takes a strategic approach to litigation to develop efficient, results-oriented solutions. He handles matters involving well-resourced opponents and works closely with clients to align litigation strategies with broader business objectives.

Mike began his legal career as a law clerk for the Delaware Superior Court, where he developed a strong foundation in civil litigation and court procedures. His early exposure to the legal profession, including time working in his family’s law practice, has shaped his practical, client-focused approach.
