Counsel

Lauren Mullin guides businesses and financial institutions through complex commercial disputes, from early case assessment through resolution in court and arbitration. She represents clients in high stakes matters that demand rigorous legal analysis, strategic advocacy, and practical problem-solving.

Lauren handles a wide range of commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as before arbitral tribunals. Her practice involves drafting pleadings, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, and engaging in all phases of motion practice, including obtaining summary judgment and dismissals on behalf of her clients. She is frequently involved in cases requiring in-depth factual investigation and close coordination with clients to develop litigation strategies aligned with business objectives. Her trial experience includes a multi-week real estate dispute in D.C. Superior Court, during which she handled opening statements, closing arguments, and direct and cross examinations.

A significant portion of Lauren’s practice involves disputes governed by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She represents financial institutions in inter-institution conflicts and expungement proceedings for financial advisors seeking to address regulatory records. Lauren is experienced in navigating the procedural and substantive requirements unique to FINRA matters and regularly assists clients in pursuing efficient resolutions to industry disputes.

Lauren also handles commercial landlord-tenant disputes, including failure-to-pay-rent actions, lease enforcement matters, and related business contract disputes. Her work in this area focuses exclusively on commercial properties and commercial leases.

Known for her thorough preparation and strategic approach, Lauren enjoys untangling complicated legal and factual issues. She is tenacious and assertive in the courtroom while remaining approachable and client-focused in her day-to-day practice. Lauren is committed to providing clients with diligent advocacy, clear communication, and a disciplined focus on achieving favorable outcomes.

Before entering private practice, Lauren served as a judicial intern and later as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Stuart R. Berger of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Lauren serves on the board of Healthcare Access Maryland, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting underserved communities with essential healthcare services.
