Franklin Miller’s practice focuses on complex litigation and dispute resolution, most often representing architects, engineers and other professionals in the design and construction industry. In this capacity, Franklin has been involved in a wide variety of cases. He has defended design professionals against serious personal injury and wrongful death claims, delay claims and claims related to the applicable standard of care for architectural drawings and engineering calculations. When possible, Franklin works with clients before disputes arise to help avoid problems down the road, whether discussing strategy or drafting and reviewing contracts. He also frequently speaks in regional forums regarding construction contract documents, construction delivery methods, risk management and design professional ethics.

Since joining Offit Kurman in 2018 Franklin has expanded his litigation practice to work with many commercial clients outside of the construction industry. In this capacity, he has assisted national technology companies and disaster management companies with governmental contracting and has prosecuted claims arising out of tortious conduct and breaches of contract. Franklin has extensive experience litigating in courts, arbitrations and mediations.

After law school, Franklin was the law clerk to the Honorable Bernard A. Moore, of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. Over that time, Franklin assisted in both civil and criminal trials and appeals. Prior to focusing his practice on the defense and representation of design professionals, Franklin practiced for over four years in a Philadelphia-based defense litigation firm. In that time, Franklin represented clients in a broad assortment of tort and contract disputes, both in court and in arbitration hearings. He also counseled insurance companies and insureds in matters involving complex insurance coverage disputes and claims of bad faith.
