Alexander "Alex" Rogosa

Principal

Alexander Rogosa is a trial-focused commercial litigator who represents businesses and individuals in high-stakes disputes where the outcomes matter most. He approaches each case with a strategic mindset that balances his client’s complete business picture with the litigation objectives. Alex works closely with clients to develop practical, results‑oriented strategies that protect their interests, manage risk, and position matters for efficient and favorable resolution, whether through early motion practice, negotiation, arbitration, or trial.

Alex’s practice spans a wide range of complex commercial disputes, with particular depth in trade secret and restrictive covenant issues, labor and employment matters, and large-scale business litigation. He has represented clients on both the plaintiff and defense sides, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how cases develop, as well as how opposing parties evaluate risk and leverage. His experience includes multijurisdictional matters involving parallel arbitrations and federal court actions, as well as disputes with hundreds of millions of dollars at issue.

In trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, Alex has handled high-profile cases for mortgage lenders and other businesses involving allegations of misappropriation, unfair competition, tortious interference, and fiduciary duty violations. He has not only tried a federal trade secret case to a jury, securing a finding of willful and malicious misappropriation and an award of attorneys’ fees, but he also personally defended and preserved this victory on appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He has also successfully defended such suits on numerous occasions and, when necessary, minimized client exposure to achieve favorable economic outcomes in complex, multi‑forum disputes.

Alex also litigates labor and employment matters, including plaintiff-side claims involving willful and malicious violations of employment laws. His work in this area includes obtaining an award in a multi-Plaintiff federal jury trial exceeding one million dollars, reflecting his ability to prove misconduct and develop compelling trial narratives supported by detailed factual records to secure punitive damages. His defense experience in this field has also been extensive, including on large-scale PAGA class cases in California, where he has defeated such claims through summary judgment and leveraged case details in others to obtain a settlement dramatically below the client’s exposure.

His litigation experience extends across state and federal courts nationwide. In addition to his trial court experience, Alex maintains an active appellate practice. He recently prevailed in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, successfully preserving a prior trial victory, and has also handled appeals in state appellate courts, including Maryland.

Clients value Alex for his direct, candid approach and his focus on outcomes rather than ego. He is known for clearly explaining both the strengths and weaknesses of a case, advising clients when aggressive litigation makes sense or when settlement is the smarter business decision. His communication style emphasizes transparency, responsiveness, and a clear understanding of each client’s objectives at every stage of a dispute.
