Offit Kurman’s James Landon to Lead Real Estate Tax Reassessment Seminar with ABC Delaware
Offit Kurman principal attorney and leader of the firm’s Real Estate Law and Transactions practice group James Landon will lead a special seminar addressing the Delaware Real Estate Tax Reassessment Update for New Castle and Sussex Counties. Hosted in partnership with ABC Delaware, this no-cost event will take place on Monday, February 5, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST at the ABC Delaware office, with an option to attend via Zoom.
Jim brings extensive experience in real estate law and a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding property tax reassessments. “Every real estate parcel in Delaware is currently undergoing a reassessment for property tax purposes, which can be worrisome and misunderstood,” said Jim. “This is your opportunity to ask questions and get the answers you need to know.”
During the seminar, Jim will provide critical insights on:
The reassessment of every property—residential and commercial—in New Castle and Sussex Counties to its assumed current fair market value.
Why now is the best time to appeal an assessment to ensure it is as low as possible.
The challenges of reducing an assessed value after this year.
The deadlines for filing appeals: March 15, 2025, for New Castle County and February 28, 2025, for Sussex County.
