Offit Kurman Expands Intellectual Property Practice with Addition of Marc Misthal
New York, NY – (December 20, 2023) – Offit Kurman is pleased to welcome Principal Marc P. Misthal to the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, resident in the New York, New York office.
Marc Misthal advises a wide range of global clients in industries such as fashion, technology, hospitality, retail and more. His experience spans federal court representation in trademark, trade dress and copyright cases, and he navigates proceedings at the USPTO and under the UDRP.
Beyond litigation, Misthal excels in negotiating agreements, combating counterfeiting and managing complex trademark and copyright applications. His influence extends globally as an appointed advisory expert at the China National Advisory Center for Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Settlement.
He has also been deeply involved in academia, having previously taught as an adjunct professor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a prominent author in prestigious publications. Misthal’s insights have earned recognition in major media outlets like The New York Times and CNBC. He was notably asked by the Manhattan D.A.’s Office about anti-counterfeiting. Additionally, he is a frequent speaker on various intellectual property topics.
Misthal earned his B.A., cum laude, from Binghamton University and his J.D., cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
