Offit Kurman Continues Its National Expansion with New Dallas, Texas Office
Am Law 200 law firm Offit Kurman is pleased to announce its expansion into Dallas/Ft. Worth with the opening of its first office in Texas on October 1, 2025. This marks Offit Kurman’s 20th office and further builds the firm’s national presence.
The move into Dallas/Ft. Worth area reflects Offit Kurman’s steady, strategic growth in recent years. In April, Offit Kurman opened its first office in Atlanta, GA, making it the 19th office for the firm. The venture into Texas expands the firm’s service offerings and extends its footprint west into North Texas to complementing its existing presence —from New York, down the East Coast to Georgia, and west in California. Looking ahead, the firm is committed to deepening its presence in Texas, with plans to add more Texas-based attorneys and open more offices in Texas.
Offit Kurman enters the Dallas/Ft. Worth marketplace launching via an affiliation with Ross & Smith, PC, a boutique law firm recognized for excellence in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, insolvency, litigation and mediation. Founded by Judith W. Ross and led by managing shareholder Frances A. Smith, Ross & Smith brings together a seasoned team of attorneys with more than 150 years of combined experience in bankruptcy, litigation, and dispute resolution.
“Entering the Texas market has been an objective of ours for some time. The Dallas/Ft. Worth market is a critical hub for business, finance, technology, energy, and entrepreneurial ventures—industries that align closely with the businesses we serve nationwide,” said Offit Kurman Chairman Ted Offit. “Our affiliation with Ross & Smith not only deepens our capabilities in complex bankruptcy and restructuring but also continues our strategy of partnering with talented, entrepreneurial attorneys who share our vision for client service and growth.”
“Ross & Smith was built on the idea that clients deserve practical solutions delivered with excellence, without the high rates and inefficiencies of traditional big law,” said Frances Smith. “Offit Kurman’s national platform, client-focus, and entrepreneurial culture including mid-market pricing make this affiliation the right next step for our team and our clients. Together, we can provide even greater resources while staying true to the values that have defined our firm.”
This alignment of values and goals makes Dallas/Ft. Worth a natural next step for both firms. As one of the fastest-growing business markets in the country, Dallas/Ft. Worth offers a diverse economy with a strong base of middle-market companies, which is a primary client base of Offit Kurman. This affiliation enhances the firm’s ability to meet the increasing demand for sophisticated yet practical counsel in Dallas/Ft. Worth, while giving clients seamless access to attorneys across Offit Kurman’s offices nationwide.
“Dallas is a thriving market with tremendous opportunity, and we are excited to welcome Frances and the Ross & Smith team,” added Tim Lynch, President at Offit Kurman. “Their experience and reputation in restructuring and insolvency matters and litigation complement our national capabilities and reflect the caliber of attorneys who continue to join our growing platform.”
