40 Under 40: Baltimore Business Journal Recognizes Sarah Sawyer
Offit Kurman is proud to announce that the Baltimore Business Journal has named principal and department chair Sarah Sawyer as one of its 2024 "40 Under 40" honorees. This prestigious award spotlights the region’s next generation of business leaders who are making a significant impact within their industries and the local community and celebrates their significant career achievements.
“I am honored to be recognized among such an incredible group of business leaders,” said Sarah Sawyer. “Being part of the Baltimore community is a privilege, and I am proud to contribute to both the legal profession and the future of our city.”
Sarah is an accomplished business attorney who helps companies mitigate risk and achieve their business goals. In addition to her practice, as a department chair at Offit Kurman, Sarah oversees nearly 100 attorneys, ensuring they meet financial goals on an individual and firmwide level. She is the first woman and youngest attorney to serve in this key leadership role. Sarah is committed to fostering an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment and spearheads initiatives such as leadership training programs that inspire and cultivate future firm leaders. Sarah has also contributed to the firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts as part of the WOMEN LEAD Steering Committee and LEAD Recruitment and Retention Task Force, identifying and supporting diverse talent, and is a co-founder of the firm’s mentorship program.
In addition to her professional achievements, Sarah is a passionate advocate for her community. She serves on the board of The Lyric Baltimore, where she helps ensure fair access to arts programs for the city’s youth, and she is an active member of the Legal Studies Advisory Board at Stevenson University, preparing students for successful legal careers.
This year’s "40 Under 40" honorees were selected from nearly 300 nominations across various industries. Honorees will be featured in the December edition of the Baltimore Business Journal, and will be recognized at an event on Thursday, December 5, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Maryland Live! Hotel and Casino.
