Lisa Seltzer Becker has been practicing law since 1996, with a career focus on family law and education law.

She has successfully prevented student expulsions, secured settlements to remove disciplinary actions from academic records, and defended students in Title IX and academic misconduct hearings. Lisa works closely with families navigating special education disputes, disciplinary matters, and school-related bullying or harassment claims, offering both advocacy and practical solutions. She has represented students and families in matters with public school systems throughout Maryland, including Montgomery County Public Schools and Howard County Public Schools, as well as private schools. Her clients value her ability to balance assertive representation with sensitivity to the emotional and educational impact these matters can have on students and their families.
As an experienced family law attorney, Lisa has helped numerous clients in Maryland and the District of Columbia with their divorce and custody matters. As an experienced litigator, Lisa is also a trained Collaborative Law practitioner and a skilled negotiator. She utilizes these skills whenever possible to reach an agreement outside the courtroom, thereby obtaining the best outcome for her clients in the most cost-efficient manner.
