John Perry

John Perry represents businesses, business owners, and individuals in a broad range of litigation matters in state and federal courts. His practice focuses on commercial and business disputes, including breach-of-contract claims, non-compete disputes, employment litigation, and trust and estate litigation. He advises clients through all phases of litigation, from pre-suit strategy and dispute resolution efforts to trial and appeal.

John handles complex disputes involving contractual relationships, business operations, employment issues, and fiduciary matters. He works closely with clients to develop practical litigation strategies that align with their objectives, helping them evaluate risks, assess potential outcomes, and make informed decisions throughout the course of a dispute. Whether representing a plaintiff pursuing claims or a defendant responding to litigation, he develops tailored approaches to each matter's unique circumstances.

In addition to his trial court practice, John has significant appellate experience. He has handled appeals before the Appellate Court of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the Virginia Court of Appeals. His appellate work includes briefings and arguments on complex legal issues arising from commercial, employment, and other civil litigation matters.

Before entering private practice, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kathryn G. Graeff of the Appellate Court of Maryland, where he assisted in drafting opinions addressing a wide range of civil and criminal matters. That experience continues to inform his approach to legal research, written advocacy, and appellate strategy.
