Gregory P. Johnson is a principal attorney in the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditor’s Rights Litigation Practice Group. He is also an assistant general counsel at Offit Kurman. Greg oversees the attorney-client relationship from the inception through the completion of new client matters, ensuring compliance with ethical requirements for new and existing clients, budgeting and payment of new matters, collection of fees and resolution of attorney-client disputes.
Greg has extensive experience in bankruptcy litigation, having served as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for over 20 years and having been appointed to more than 14,000 cases as a Chapter 7 Trustee. Greg has also represented debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Additionally, this includes representing the interest of landlords as creditors in bankruptcy proceedings filed by tenants. He has also served as a licensed title insurance agent and real estate settlement attorney, handling commercial and residential real estate sales and refinance sales transactions.
Additionally, Greg has served as an adjunct professor at the law schools of Catholic University and the University of the District of Columbia. He has also been a program coordinator and a speaker for over 100 continuing legal education (CLE) programs for local, state, federal bar associations and other professional associations. Greg has served as president of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the State of Maryland.
He is the recipient of two national television awards for his role as the co-host of a public broadcast program, “Dollars & $ense,” which focused on money management and investment issues.
