Attorneys are at a higher risk of experiencing depression and anxiety than the general population (Mental Health in the Legal Profession: Why It Matters Now More Than Ever | OneAdvanced). The unique stressors of this highly demanding profession can lead to a range of mental health problems. These challenges can impact every area of life and tend to worsen when those affected do not seek help due to barriers such as stigma. Attorneys have an ethical responsibility to maintain competence to provide effective representation while managing mental health concerns in accordance with ABA Model Rules.
This program will highlight the importance of mental health awareness, common mental health issues in the legal profession such as depression and anxiety, stress and its impact, and effective strategies and solutions.
