David Jones

David Jones is a seasoned labor and employment attorney, exclusively dedicated to defending California employers. With nearly three decades of experience, he represents management in employment litigation, counseling and claim prevention. David is known for his creative problem-solving and adaptable approach, tailoring strategies to meet each client’s unique needs.

David has built long-standing relationships with a diverse client base, successfully handling individual and class action claims involving wage and hour disputes, harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination and retaliation. His extensive litigation background spans civil litigation and appellate advocacy, equipping him to navigate complex employment matters before state and federal courts. He also regularly defends employers in government investigations conducted by agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the California Labor Commissioner, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Employment Development Department.

Having previously represented plaintiffs, David brings a rare, dual-perspective advantage to employer defense. His deep understanding of opposing strategies allows him to anticipate and counter aggressive litigation tactics effectively. He has successfully argued appellate cases before the California Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

David has held leadership roles in the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA), including serving as its President for the 2020-21 term. He has also been Chair of the SFVBA’s Attorney Referral Service Committee and a Trustee and Officer. His contributions extend to serving as Outside General Counsel for the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association, where he co-led negotiations securing a $200 million operations agreement with the City of Los Angeles to fund health insurance subsidies for retired firefighters.

A dedicated educator and advocate, David was an adjunct professor of law at Whittier Law School, teaching employment law. He has also served as a board representative for the Valley Community Legal Foundation and as a trustee and vice president of the Whittier Law School Alumni Association.

His commitment to the community includes serving on the Board of Directors for MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity), a leading poverty relief agency in Los Angeles County. Additionally, he is a Board Member of Marley’s Mutts, a prominent animal rescue organization.
