A. Peter Rausch, Jr., brings more than 35 years of experience representing businesses, entrepreneurs, and executives in commercial litigation and business counseling. His practice covers a broad spectrum of disputes, including contract and shareholder/partnership matters, intellectual property issues, employment disputes, insurance coverage, secured transactions, copyright and trademark protection and disputes, corporate governance challenges and a wide range of civil disputes. Peter’s counsel spans the entire business lifecycle. He works with clients on entity formation and governance, negotiating and implementing transactions, managing investor and creditor relationships, and overseeing the winding down of operations when necessary. When disputes arise, Peter designs litigation strategies tailored to business goals and has a proven record of achieving favorable results in state and federal courts nationwide.

In addition to his litigation and counseling work, Peter is dedicated to advancing the profession and educating future business leaders. He has served as a lecturer at the University of the Pacific’s School of Business, where he taught undergraduate and MBA students about business formation, corporate governance, and intellectual property. He has published on law firm technology and efficiency in California Lawyer presented at continuing education seminars on technology and practice management.
Peter also contributes to the administration of justice in California. He has served as a pro tem judge in San Joaquin County Superior Court, presiding over small claims matters. He is a member of the Court’s Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Panels and has been privately retained to mediate and arbitrate civil disputes. He has been a court-ordered arbitrator in selected civil cases and regularly serves as a panel mediator for the Third District California Court of Appeal. With advanced mediation training, he provides private dispute resolution services to parties navigating complex business conflicts. Peter has been a guest lecturer with the Third District Court of Appeal Mediation Program and has served as a pro bono settlement counsel with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California
