Over the course of this series, in partnership with the law firms Offit KurmanStein Sperling Bennet De Jong Driscoll, and Baker Donelson, RS&F will uncover strategies, best practices, and more to untangle the challenges to commercial real estate, wealth planning, and bankruptcy brought on by COVID-19.

The impact on demand for office, industrial and retail real estate has created a trickle-down concern for financial institutions, investors, landlords and tenants.

Together David and Andrew will explore market trends and discuss the economic and real estate impacts of COVID-19, and strategies available during these uncertain times to address financial, legal and tax concerns.

Andrew Robinson is a Principal in the Real Estate Law and Transactions group with a practice focus on matters relating to land use, administrative law, commercial leasing, land development, complex real estate transactions and financing, medical cannabis law, business acquisitions/sales, general corporate matters, and civil litigation. Mr. Robinson has extensive experience representing clients facing homeowner association, landlord-tenant, real estate/construction disputes. He has assisted clients in processing subdivision and condominium development as well as in planning and zoning matters throughout the state.

David S. Rosen is a Partner at RS&F and Tax Chair. In that capacity, Mr. Rosen oversees all aspects of the firm’s tax department. On behalf of clients, he leverages his unique skill set as a tax attorney and CPA to provide business advisory and tax structuring for businesses and high net worth families. Mr. Rosen also leads the strategic business and tax planning for many of RS&F’s largest and most complex clients.

John Hermann is Vice President of Asset Management/Leasing for Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT). He is responsible for the leasing and financial management of a portfolio of 40 buildings, located throughout Maryland, totaling over 3 million square feet. John has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience, including 19 years with COPT. He has served on the NAIOP-MD Board of Directors since 2012 and will become president of the commercial real estate organization in 2022.
