The SECURE ACT: Tax, Wealth Management, and Estate Planning Strategies and Perspectives for Your Retirement

Speakers:
Lauren A. Jenkins, Mishkin Santa, and Dana Sippel
Description

Did you know there is a new law that affects YOUR retirement preparation and saving? No matter your age or stage of life, there are important things you must understand related to taxes, wealth management, and estate planning.

The SECURE Act was signed into law just prior to the beginning of the new year. This sweeping bill offers several adjustments to our current laws surrounding saving and preparing for retirement.

The SECURE Act is poised to provide more part-time workers with the opportunity to participate in an employer-sponsored 401(k) plan, adjust the age caps on traditional IRAs and increase access to tax-advantaged retirement savings accounts. In this webinar, we will share the most prominent changes of this new Act, from tax, wealth management planning, and estate planning perspectives, and how these changes may affect your own retirement.

We will also provide commentary and discussion about the newly introduced Revenue Procedure 2020-17. This Procedure contains significant changes towards the IRS policy for classifying and reporting Foreign Pensions (both employer and private) and Foreign Savings Plans. The Procedure also provides abatement and refund procedures for any individual that may have been or is currently dealing with a penalty related to IRS Forms 3520 and 3520-A in regards to a Foreign Pension or Savings Plan.
