Offit Kurman’s M&A Group Represents Arnold Packaging Company in Acquisition of World Class Packaging

August 21, 2018 | Baltimore, MD Offit Kurman’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Practice Group has continued along its recent record-breaking stretch of transactions with the closure of another deal earlier this month. Attorneys Michael N. Mercurio, James M. Hoffman, and Daniel Hofherr represented Arnold Packaging in its acquisition of regional competitor World Class Packaging. The transaction closed on August 10th.

Founded in 1933 as Arnold’s Factory Supplies, Arnold Packaging is one of the premier packaging providers in North America. The company has served customers such as Saks Fifth Avenue and the U.S. Army, and has partnered with organizations such as the 3M Company, Northrop Grumman, General Electric, and Bethlehem Steel. Under its current president, fourth-generation family owner Mick Arnold, Arnold Packaging has grown to manage 80,000 square feet of facility space and $1.3 million in inventory. The company also recently launched its first break-out division: Arnold Automation.

Based in southeastern Baltimore, World Class Packaging was started in 2004 by Marco Alban. With World Class Packaging’s client base of more than 200 customers across the region, the acquisition brings with it a greater market share across the mid-Atlantic, as well as six more employees—increasing the size of the Arnold Packaging team by 11%.

Offit Kurman has helped Mid-Atlantic business owners close more than half a dozen transactions this summer. Recent successful deals for clients include the merger of Minnick’s and Ecobeco; the sale of VetsAmerica Business Consulting Inc. to Veteran Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (VESI); and divestment of a joint venture owned by United Support Services (USS), LLC.
