Offit Kurman’s John Raftery Received PMA’s Distinguished Service Award

For Immediate Release PMA logBethesda, MD I December 1, 2015 John Raftery, Offit Kurman shareholder and practice group leader of the Business Litigation Practice Group, received the “Distinguished Service Award” from the Property Management Association (PMA).  The award signifies his dedication and contributions to the PMA and for his countless hours of training, commitment, and service he provided to the property management industry. He received the “Distinguished Service Award” at the PMA’s Past Presidents’ Awards Banquet on November 19. The PMA is the largest real estate management association in the Washington, D.C. region. It represents almost 1,800 capital-area property management professionals who are responsible for an estimated 750,000 residential units and over 120 million square feet of commercial, retail, and industrial space. “John is truly a great resource for PMA and its members,” said Scott Jones, the President of PMA, “Not only does John represent many of PMA’s members, he provides valuable training on a variety of topics including Fair Housing.  In addition, John provides great guidance to PMA’s Board of Directors.” At Offit Kurman, John is not only a distinguished litigation attorney and the Business Litigation Practice Group Leader. Earlier this year, he was invited to serve on Offit Kurman’s Management Committee and soon became an integral part of the team. Through the Management Committee, John assists in top-level decision-making throughout Offit Kurman’s nine offices and various practice groups. As a long-time member of the PMA, John frequently provides general counsel to its members. He has dedicated numerous hours to the organization. John Brunnett, the Practice Group Manager of Offit Kurman’s litigation, insurance recovery, and landlord practice groups, remarked, “I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with John and this organization over the past couple of years and John does not do this work for recognition but in this case, the recognition was very much deserved.”
