Offit Kurman Welcomes Two Intellectual Property Attorneys in the Philadelphia Region

Offit Kurman is pleased to announce that Dionne Heard and Chintan Desai have both joined the firm as Intellectual Property counsel. Ms. Heard will be located in the firm’s Plymouth Meeting office and Mr. Desai will be located in the Philadelphia office.

Dionne Heard focuses her practice on trademark and patent prosecution and litigation, copyright registration and litigation and copyright and trademark enforcement. Before joining Offit Kurman, Ms. Heard worked as intellectual property in-house counsel to one of the country’s largest restaurant equipment distribution companies where she managed their extensive trademark and copyright portfolio, advised on trademarks and branding, litigated trademark and copyright infringement matters and monitored and protected the company’s brand through online enforcement. Ms. Heard also has experience with cyber and data security, unfair competition and licensing.

Ms. Heard received her B.S. from Penn State University and her J.D. from Western Michigan University Law School. She also received her LLM in Intellectual Property from Western Michigan University.

Chintan Desai concentrates his practice on all phases of patent procurement, trademark prosecution and counseling. He represents a broad range of clients, from individual business owners to publicly traded companies, in matters both domestically and abroad. Before joining Offit Kurman, Mr. Desai worked in private practice where he represented clients on a wide variety of intellectual property matters including contractual matters and litigation.

Mr. Desai received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, and his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden.
