Offit Kurman Co-founder Maurice Offit Presents on Asset Protection Planning to Harford County Medical Association
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Maple Lawn, MD—On Tuesday November 18, 2014 Offit Kurman co-founder and estate planning attorney Maurice Offit gave a presentation on Asset Protection Planning to Harford County Medical Association. Twenty doctors were in attendance to hear Mr. Offit say “More than half of all doctors will be sued for malpractice before they turn 50.” The presentation focused on doctors facing lawsuits and describing payouts. Mr. Offit explained that while primary plan should always be not to get sued, it is good to have an asset protection plan as a secondary option. He described how asset protection plans work and how important they are in protecting assets when faced with a lawsuit. Harford County Medical Association is affiliated with MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, is a non-profit organization whose goal is to serve as Maryland’s foremost advocate and resource for physicians, patients & the public health.
