Offit Kurman Adds Four Intellectual Property Litigation Attorneys, Growing the Firms IP Practice

For Immediate Release

Philadelphia, PA | July 25, 2019

Offit Kurman today announced that four highly accomplished attorneys are joining the Intellectual Property Practice Group, adding to the firm’s growing platform. Lynn Terrebonne, Michael H. Hogan, and Pei-Ru Wey will practice out of the firm’s Philadelphia office, while R Touhey Myer will join Offit Kurman’s office in Wilmington, Delaware.

The new attorneys amplify Offit Kurman’s already distinguished IP Practice Group with powerful capabilities in patents and all aspects of intellectual property litigation. The team brings significant experience representing domestic and international pharmaceutical companies in patent infringement litigation, with a focus on Hatch-Waxman litigation. Additionally, the team expands Offit Kurman’s deep bench of technical backgrounds to include a mechanical engineer, a Doctor of Pharmacology, a Doctor of Pharmacy, and an experienced medicinal chemist.

Dr. Terrebonne, Mr. Hogan, Mr. Myer, and Dr. Wey are the latest of several IP attorneys to join Offit Kurman in the past 18 months. In 2018, the firm welcomed Gregory Grissett, who now serves as Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group, as well as Scott Lloyd. Earlier this year, Laura J. Winston joined the firm in New York City and Joseph Mathew in Plymouth Meeting.

“Together with the existing group, the new attorneys position Offit Kurman as a formidable force for IP legal matters from trademark counseling and prosecution to patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation of all such matters”, said Mr. Grissett.

“We are very excited to have Lynn Terrebonne and her accomplished colleagues join the IP practice group at Offit Kurman,” he said. “Their experience, particularly working with pharmaceutical companies on complex patent matters, enhances the firm’s specialized skills in this practice area. I look forward to helping our new colleagues flourish under the Offit Kurman platform.”

“Lynn, Michael, Pei-Ru, and Touhey are welcome additions to our firm,” said Offit Kurman Managing Principal Tim Lynch. “Patent litigation is a crucial component of our platform for the representation of privately-held businesses and their owners. Virtually all businesses have Intellectual Property needs and with the addition of this group of experienced attorneys we are better able to help protect our clients’ rights, and every business owner can benefit from having an accomplished IP legal partner on their side.”

IP isn’t the only area in which Offit Kurman has been expanding. Just earlier this month the firm absorbed 27 attorneys from Charlotte, North Carolina-based Horack, Talley, Pharr & Lowndes, expanding its reach to the Southeastern U.S.

“We manage to a strategic plan that calls for growth within our footprint,” Lynch said. “As long as it is responsible growth, we are looking to add good people,” he said.
