Wednesday, July 30, 2014 10:00 am Pacific/12:00 pm Central/1:00 pm Eastern

This highly informative webinar will begin with a basic checklist of bullet points from the initial point of client contact. You’ll learn how to effectively gather the critical information for an attorney to conduct a client consultation. This session shows you the necessary precautions to take from the first point of contact to avoid providing any interaction that could be construed as legal advice. The presenter will extrapolate on her experiences with clients to demonstrate how a paralegal-client relationship is only effective for the attorney team if the paralegal can neutrally elicit information from the client.

What You Will Learn:

• What information is necessary to gather before conducting the first attorney/client meeting (checklist) • How to effectively gather information without providing legal advice (questions vs. comments) • Establish an honest rapport with the client to encourage a future working relationship (emotionally laden interactions) • How to prepare the client interview for the legal team in a streamlined format
