COUNTY EXECUTIVE APPOINTS OFFIT KURMAN’S ALEX ALLMAN TO BOARD

Maple Lawn, MD | June 20, 2011 The County Executive recently appointed Alex Allman, a talented young attorney at Offit Kurman, to the Harford County Public Library Board of Trustees.  Confirmed by the County Council, trustees are tasked with setting policy and establishing and operating a free library.  Duties also include advising on the budgeting process and controlling the spending of funds. A five-year public appointment, Allman is looking forward to contributing to the growth of this noteworthy organization.  “The Harford County Public Library is one of the premier public library systems in the country.  It’s on the cutting-edge of technology and is widely supported by the public,” explained Allman when asked about his recent appointment.  “I am very excited to serve this important community resource and I appreciate the confidence place in me by the County Executive, the County Council, and the Director of the library.” Committed to connecting people with information and promoting the love of reading within the community, Harford County Public Library operates eleven branches located throughout the county.  The library serves over 210,000 registered borrowers of all ages and has an annual circulation of almost 4,700,000.  For more information on Harford County Public Library, please go to hcplonline.org or contact your local branch.
