Business licensing: The first step in doing business by Robert J. Kresslein

If you are an entrepreneur, no day compares to the day you start a new business. It is the intersection of one’s dreams and accomplishments, an equally electrifying and daunting opportunity. In theory, starting up seems straightforward: you develop an idea, create a business plan, execute that plan and put the ideas into action. In practice, however, starting a business involves considerable effort and requires a vigilant attention to details. That means, among other things, making sure you have obtained all of the entitlements required at the state, county and local levels. Failure to make the initial filings or to secure necessary business licenses may result in undue delays in the startup process. Lack of caution could completely derail your best-laid plans. Worse, mistakes could result in fines, penalties, or even disqualification from doing business. It is therefore vitally important to understand the levels of licensure and regulatory oversight that a founder faces. Click here to read more on Frederick News Post
