Maple Lawn, MD | Dec 21, 2015 Attorneys Brian C. Rosenberg and Bryan J. Pelino are leaving Offit Kurman to found a new law firm. Effective January 1st, the two attorneys will relocate and practice under the name Rosenberg Pelino LLC. Although operating independently, Rosenberg Pelino will collaborate with Offit Kurman through the formation of a mutually beneficial Of Counsel relationship. The term “Of Counsel” designates legal professionals who maintain a close, ongoing association with a law firm but who are not employed by that firm. Following an agreement between Rosenberg Pelino and Offit Kurman, Mr. Rosenberg and Mr. Pelino will continue working with their former colleagues at Offit Kurman on an Of Counsel basis. This arrangement allows the two attorneys to build their new business while harnessing the extensive knowledge base Offit Kurman’s team has to offer. Simultaneously, the arrangement introduces Offit Kurman to a broader network of potential partners and clients.

Mr. Pelino and Mr. Rosenberg bring their combined experience as skilled advisors and negotiators to their new firm, where they will assist clients on matters such as loan transactions, commercial acquisition, lines of credit, and restructures and workouts. In contrast with Offit Kurman’s comprehensive legal framework, Rosenberg Pelino will primarily engage in the representation of banks and other lenders, offering clients a unique level of service in that category. Both attorneys have played instrumental roles in Offit Kurman’s Banking and Finance Practice Group: Mr. Rosenberg previously served as practice group chair, while Mr. Pelino expanded the group’s representation of regional and national lenders as well as the firm’s capacity to counsel clients in connection with government-guaranteed loan programs. “I congratulate Brian and Bryan on the creation of their new firm,” said Theodore “Ted” Offit, Offit Kurman Managing Principal. “While we are sad to see them go, our Of Counsel arrangement ensures we will remain close allies here in Maryland. I wish them both the best for the next chapters of their careers and look forward to our continued collaboration.”
