Baltimore Recruiting Startup Visable Set to Revolutionize the Job Market for Area College Grads

For Immediate Release Baltimore, MD | October 5, 2015 Visable, a platform that efficiently connects students with internships and full-time jobs, is launching this fall to students in the Baltimore area. The company was one of six startups to complete AccelerateBaltimore in spring 2015. “College recruiting is essentially the same as it was before the internet,” said Visable co-founder Matthew Longley. “Employers and students get together at these giant career fairs in school gymnasiums and basically mingle. It’s tremendously ineffective for companies, and really quite overwhelming for students. We’re trying to inject a lot more direction and information into the process.” Visable helps students succeed in their job search by highlighting their strengths and exposing them to a wider pool employers than conventional recruiting models allow. Visable is free to students and competitively priced for recruiters. Its web-based marketplace allows companies to hire young talent more effectively by expanding their reach while arming them with meaningful student data. Using Visable’s interactivity tools, recruiters have greater capability to target and win over the right candidates. In anticipation of its launch, Visable is building connections with small and large organizations in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The company has partnered with a diverse range of employers, local and global alike. Current regional partners include Saleswarp, NewsUp, and Yet Analytics, while GEICO, Aon, Hershey are among the established worldwide corporations endorsing Visable’s technology. Developed by three Johns Hopkins University alumni, Visable seeks to add data analytics to an otherwise time- and resource-intensive process, a process that traditionally relies on guesswork and intuition. Frustrating experiences starting their own careers out of college and eventually returning to campus to recruit students for their employers inspired co-founders Longley, Charlie Sido, and Ben Schuster to conceive the idea. The three recently concluded development of Visable’s first version after gathering feedback about its user interface and data collection features. “We’re incredibly excited to launch this startup in Baltimore,” said Sido. “So many students come here for the great schools and end up leaving after graduation— that was us, initially, as well. We think if students could see all of the great employment opportunities Baltimore has to offer, they’d be far more likely to stick around. We’re going to help make those connections easier.” Interested in learning more about Visable or supporting its mission? Reach out to Matthew Longley at
