Offit Kurman, one of the mid-Atlantic’s fastest growing law firms, is searching for a dynamic individual to provide superior legal administrative assistant support to two or more attorneys in its Frederick, MD office. Experience in a law firm environment supporting attorneys is required. Ideal candidate must be motivated to be a strong team player within a small office work environment. Essential Duties: * Performs Receptionist duties – greets clients, answers phone, schedules conference room, maintains office supplies. * Provide excellent client service, which will include daily interaction by telephone, email and in person. * Prepare legal papers and correspondence * Transcribe correspondence and documents from handwritten and typed drafts. * Organize and maintain client files and records in both hard copy and electronic format. * Mail, scan, fax and arrange for delivery of legal documents and correspondence to clients and other agencies. * Schedule appointments and maintain calendar in Outlook. * Assist in new client/matter engagement process, ensuring compliance with Firm standards. * May enter attorney time in web-based time entry system (i.e., Rainmaker). * Assist with maintaining Reception, conference and kitchen areas. * Assist with ordering and maintaining office supplies. * Perform other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications: You must have at least three to five years’ experience working in a law firm environment and have strong knowledge of law firm office procedures and practices. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate that you have experience successfully assisting assigned attorneys with the ability to multi-task; prepare documents and correspondence neatly, accurately, and professionally; operate a variety of office machines, including typewriter, copier, scanner, fax machine and computer using Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; type accurately at 60 wpm; strong attention to detail and able to proofread documents with accuracy; apply correct verbal and written English; maintain records and files with precision and accuracy, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with work colleagues.
