Learning and Development Specialist (Any Office)

Offit Kurman, a growing full-service law firm, seeks a Learning and Development Specialist to join its Knowledge and Innovation team. This position offers the chance to join a team that is dedicated to improving our employees’ work life through building innovative solutions and developing our workforce development programs. This position can be based out of any of Offit Kurman’s offices with remote work opportunities.

 

Working collaboratively with the Knowledge and Innovation team, as well as the IT Department, Help Desk, and other departments as needed, the Learning and Development Specialist will help develop and maintain a culture of organizational learning and deliver training and learning programs to align with Offit Kurman’s overall strategy and mission.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Delivering training—via classroom, Teams, one-on-one, or eLearning—on a variety of professional subjects.
  • Conducting New Hire Training on firm software applications, tailoring training delivery to address differences in job requirements.
  • Coordinating administrative tasks associated with training: maintaining training calendar and Learning Management System; assessing and confirming necessary technology requirements for training delivery.
  • Conducting one-on-one training on our New File process and other topics upon request or need, often in response to “how-to” questions.
  • Creating and updating reference materials for new and existing software applications and product upgrades.
  • Participating as the representative of user experience in testing of new software applications, product upgrades, and special projects as needed.
  • Supporting the Help Desk team on training-related tickets.
  • Identifying topics for weekly tips; creating and distributing topics to Firm.
  • Developing eLearning content using a variety of screen capture tools.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and knowledge.
  • One year of experience in adult education or classroom teaching preferred.
  • Previous experience working in large-scale application upgrades (e.g., Win10/Office 365 conversion).
  • Previous experience with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Windows 10, and a Learning Management System.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Teams, Adobe DC, Articulate Storyline, Aderant Expert, NetDocuments/ndOffice, or similar applications strongly preferred.
  • Prior law firm experience, including experience with legal-specific software applications and opening new files/matters preferred.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to other Firm offices with additional travel required during peak training or rollout periods.
