Last Friday, Cole Schnorf was named the Good Scout for 2018.
Cole was introduced by his 4 children, each of whom shared personal anecdotes about their Dad. He is a man of routine, of structure, of discipline, and pretty fun in the outdoors. He is currently the COO and Director of Development with Manekin, LLC.
Cole’s wife Joan, beaming with pride at her children and grandchild, shares the importance of Scouts. She was honored for her understanding of the time away from home that his commitment caused. But mostly, honestly, she was thrilled to have all of the children in town with her for this event!
Dick Story came out of retirement to MC this event, and, as always, is the consummate host. Del Karfonta invited the crowd to sponsor a scout, which I happily did again this year along with many others.
A real highlight of the program was hearing from Jacob Witlin, Eagle Scout Troop 874 from Glen Mar United Methodist Church. Jacob is a senior at Mt. Hebron High School, with a desire to go to the US Naval Academy. His poise, humor, and engaging manner should all put him in good stead as they have distinguished him thus far.
Congratulations to Cole for this distinguished honor!
The date is set for next year’s event in November, so be sure not to miss this in 2019!
