The Columbia Orchestra delighted audiences on a rainy, blustery Sunday last weekend.
It was nasty outside, but lovely inside. The orchestra was joined, for its pops concert, by two singers, one of whom brought my group to tears with his spellbinding version of Some Enchanted Evening. My friend on one side was sniffling. My friend on the other side was dabbing her eyes, and I was just so caught up in the moment. I know I am dating myself when I talk about South Pacific, and the power of that song in that moment. Just wonderful!
Anyway, it is amazing that we have this all-volunteer orchestra gem in our midst, of which I was unaware but for the fact that my friend Esther’s daughter, Nancy, plays the bass.
If you haven’t heard them, I encourage you to do so.
