Howard County Chamber Panel Discussion on the State of Healthcare in the County
Certain themes are so very evident. We don’t have a hospital that can adequately serve our growing and aging population. Space is our biggest problem. Many people who use emergency room services should be somewhere else. Training is underway to get people to use other facilities, like their own primary care doctors. And like everyone else, we are facing an opiod epidemic.
What is very evident, is that everyone on the panel, representing a different facet of the challenges, is working together with each other, and with our County Executive to try to solve the problems.
This event will be an annual one hosted by the Chamber, so I look forward to how the situation progresses.
