For a number of years now, the Business Women’s Network of Howard County has awarded scholarships to qualified women who need assistance paying for their education.
To date, over $50,000 in scholarships has been awarded. Yesterday, at BWN’s monthly lunch, it was all about Scholarship winners. 3 prior winners came and discussed the impact the award of a scholarship had on their ability to get to the success they enjoy today.
Howard Community College has been a source of identification of those in need.
Yesterday was a fundraiser to enable us to continue our tradition of assistance. Basket raffles were the source of the funds, with members of BWN donating generously filled baskets which were raffled to the crowd.
We raised over a thousand dollars in the raffles, and our coffers were expanded by a named Scholarship donation from our very own Linda Cromwell who donated in the name of her Dear Mother.
It is difficult to describe how truly wonderful this networking group is. It is one that has members who actually care about each other, and promote each other’s good work.
Check us out, and become a part of something bigger than you. Network, enjoy our programs, do business together, support our monthly charities, and make life long friends.
