We’ve all seen entertainers who fashion balloons into little dogs and such. But have you ever seen one who can create a car in which he can sit, or one who has travelled to 37 countries on 5 continents to share his talent and to teach, or appeared on the Today Show and others to wow his audience??
Well, on Friday, Robbie Furman, who has done all of these things and more, came to the Columbia Patuxent Rotary club to demonstrate his skills.
He compares the art of balloon making to the art of making music. Songs are based on a set of notes. Balloon making is based on a set of five basic twists he uses to make his unique creations. Talk about feeling like a kid again. We oohed and aahed at how his seemingly simple twists created such works of art.
If you are interested in joining with great people who do wonderful things for our community, check out the Columbia Patuxent Rotary Club. We meet most Fridays at 7:30 am at Linden Hall, or reach out to me and I will gladly give you more information.
