Sometimes, we venture out of Howard County, to enjoy wonderful holiday sights! This weekend, the site was Coastal Highway in Ocean City, and the Northside Park at 125th Street.
Thousands lined the parade route as floats, local marching bands, decorated Jeeps, and politicians filled Coastal Highway for its annual Holiday Parade. The day was beautiful, and the half mile route was full of color, music, decorations, and candy.
The evening presented the opportunity to go through the lights on 53 acres at Northside Park. In what has become a tradition, my 5 granddaughters and I, and 7500 other families went through the display. The lines are long, and there is an investment of time, but the organization makes it work. The twelve days of Christmas, polar bears, and skiing Santas are just some of the displays that delight. The event is free for those under 12, and just $5.00 for all others. It is a sight to see, and worth the wait. The display runs through January 2.
