Wednesday was the day on which the Howard County Chamber honored its Veterans.
At Savage Mill, the Chamber gathered to pay homage to Veterans who graced us with their presence. All Veterans in attendance were asked to stand and be recognized, so we could thank them for their service. Ft. Meade Garrison Commander, Colonel Thomas S. Rickard talked about life on Ft. Meade, and the need to first build infrastructure so that the critical work of the base can be conducted.
Lisa Terry, the director of Howard County’s Office of Veterans and Military Families talked about the services available to our military families in the county, which exceed 20,000. Many Veterans walk among us. Make sure to thank them for their service.
