Rotary Club of Columbia/Patuxent Annual Dinner
The Rotary Club of Columbia/Patuxent held its Annual Dinner on Sunday night at the Howard County Conservancy.
Since I have been a member of the club, I have been asked many times what Rotary does. It is a very difficult answer to convey, because whatever my answer, it does not do justice to our club. My answer: it is an organization of wonderful people who do great things. It is a philanthropic organization with projects that are local, national, and international. We raise money and support local organizations such as Gilchrist Hospice, Camp Attaway, the Community Action Council, Grassroots, and many others. Many groups give support to others, but it is hard to convey the feeling of Service above Self, which are the words by which we live. If you would like to amplify what one individual can do, and join with other giving people, come check us out. We meet on Friday mornings from 7:30 – 8:30 at Linden Hall in Ellicott City.
Sandy Harriman was awarded the well- deserved honor of Rotarian of the Year.
