The Howard County Chamber of Commerce held its 48th Annual Meeting yesterday at Turf Valley. It was a very full agenda as the new Board was voted into office, retiring Board members were thanked, and the Board’s VP of Operations, Joanne Birdsong, was thanked with a standing ovation for her service to the Chamber. Joanne has been the face of the Chamber for 10 years, and she will be profoundly missed.
A focus of yesterday’s meeting was a contest for students from Howard Community College. Four students presented their new product to the gathering, including marketing, funding, distribution, and distinction from other similar products. All of them were amazing. The participants at the meeting voted, and the winner declared. It is good to know that there are such smart visionaries within our midst.
