Tysons Corner, VA | December 17, 2015 Offit Kurman announces the selection of its newest shareholder, estate and trust litigation lawyer Thomas W. Repczynski. Based in Offit Kurman’s Tysons Corner, Virginia location, Mr. Repczynski first joined the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice group in 2010 in its Bethesda, Maryland location before opening the firm’s first Virginia office the following year. Since helping to found the Tysons Corner office, Mr. Repczynski has played a crucial role in supporting Offit Kurman’s growth while continuing to establish himself as one of Virginia’s foremost attorneys. In addition to emphasizing estate and trust litigation, his diverse civil litigation practice incorporates creditors’ rights representation, general commercial and real estate related matters (ranging from residential HOA to commercial landlord/tenant disputes). Mr. Repczynski’s wide-ranging clientele include individual fiduciaries and beneficiaries, community banks, closely-held business owners and their companies, non-profit educational organizations, and international manufacturing clients doing business in the U.S. Active in both legal and community activities, Mr. Repczynski has been named to the 2014 and 2015 Super Lawyers® annual list of Virginia Estate and Trust Litigation attorneys, has received the highest professional peer rating (AV® Preeminent), as reported by Martindale-Hubbell, and was previously recognized among the SmartCEO® Legal Elite. He is a two-time recipient of the Fairfax Bar Association’s President’s Award, currently serving as the FBA’s Vice President and Investment Committee Chair, and as Secretary of the South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. He is a past-President and longtime member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association (NVBBA); is a 2010 Leadership Fairfax LFI program graduate; and recently stepped down as Committee Chairman for Boy Scout Troop 688. He umpires WSLL Little League ballgames, officiates VHSL high school and NVSL community swim meets, and recently began announcing high school athletic events. As shareholder, Mr. Repczynski intends to continue his ongoing efforts to grow Offit Kurman’s Virginia office and to help guide the firm’s overall direction. “I hope to spend the rest of my legal career at Offit Kurman and have continuously strived to help shape the firm’s future, especially here in Northern Virginia,” Tom said. “I am honored to be recognized in this way by the firm’s namesakes and the rest of the Offit Kurman shareholders. Shareholder status offers an increased opportunity to participate in that future-building and confirms a heightened level of responsibility I’ve always presumed in myself.” “Tom is a major asset to our firm,” added John Raftery, chair of Offit Kurman’s Business Litigation practice group and member of the firm’s Management Committee. “I am pleased to see him assume the position he deserves. I have known Tom since before we both joined Offit Kurman, and it has been inspiring to watch him dedicate his extraordinary energy and skill to our work here. We would not have an office in Virginia—let alone a dynamic and flourishing one—were it not for his efforts.”
