The Election results last week resulted in a big win for the Republicans. Republicans now take over a majority of the Senate and the House, which in turn may have an impact on the enforcement efforts of the formerly Democratic controlled administrative agencies such as the Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. There are two perspectives on this. Republicans can garner support to control funding in a negative way for these agencies’ enforcement efforts. Or, given that there are only two years left for the Obama administration, these agencies may even be more aggressive in terms of enforcement efforts, despite decreased in funding.
