As we approach Veterans Day next week I am reminded of how important having a network of other Veterans is. It is through the strength we find together with other Veterans that true success can be achieved. For those unfamiliar with ORP here is a great article recently published in the Andrews Gazette which captures of mission of ORP. You are invited to join us as at ORP as we close out the year. ORP continues to be an asset for Veterans in business and those looking to work with and support Veteran owned businesses to connect.
In October we had 180 attend the monthly breakfast to hear Kris Paronto, one of the Co-Authors of 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really happened in Benghazi. Those who came were fortunate to hear what happened that night directly from someone on the ground under fire. If you were not there, the book is a must read and if you would like a signed copy please let me know and I will coordinate it for you. We only have two events planned for the rest of the year. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to network with other Veterans committed to success in business. Under the ORP announcements are other events occurring next week that our friends and fellow Veterans have submitted to me. Please join your fellow Veterans in a time of remembrance and celebration next week.
November 10 in Foggy Bottom DC-ORP and Student Veterans of America (SVA) are teaming up to sponsor this joint networking/social event to highlight the work SVA is doing in the Veteran community and introduce some of the younger veterans to the Veteran business community.
In the past this event has attracted more than 150 attendees so register early. The event is free, but you must register so we know how much food to provide and to make sure you have a nametag to help with networking. The mission of Student Veterans of America is to provide military Veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation. SVA’s model provides programs and services to student veterans via a campus-based peer support network made up of SVA chapters. From the original 20 chapters, SVA’s network has grown to more than 1100 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states and three countries. SVA is hosting this event at its beautiful National Veterans Center in Foggy Bottom. Stop by after work for light appetizers and a unique opportunity to network with other veterans focused on success in business.

We are fortunate to have as our keynote speaker former counter-terrorism coordinator in the Reagan administration and host of “War Stories” – the award-winning military documentary series on Fox News Channel, LTCOL Oliver North, USMC, (Ret). You do not want to miss an opportunity to hear LTCOL North speak of a lifetime of service for our countries. In addition to LTCOL Oliver North we will have entertainment provided by the George Washington University Troubadours. Most importantly come share in the holiday spirit and take this opportunity to support such a vital organization in Warriors Ethos. Sponsorship’s available. Many companies have approached me over the years about sponsorship of ORP events. I have never had a sponsor other than my own firm for personal reason. However, as a fundraiser for Warriors Ethos, this event does have sponsorship opportunities. If you truly want to show your support for the Veteran community please sponsor this event.
