With the elections this week, leadership is on the front of most people’s minds. But co-leadership (see article 1); I don’t think I know any companies that have formally adopted a co-leadership platform. However, I wonder, because I see it often, how many companies have a multiple leader platform (and by leadership I mean the top decision makers, CEO, etc.) by accident? I often see businesses that are owned by multiple persons where each owner is a “leader” in the business. If not carefully managed, this “default co-leadership” platform can cause chaos, inefficiency and havoc with your staff, customers, etc. Be careful to identify a clear chain of authority in your business.
